Python calls hosted Jev through a client, and the weights are not on pip.
A Python program calls Jev over HTTP, or through a library that makes that call. The stories here name `typesafe-sdk` as the official client, `langchain-typesafe` for LangChain, and `dspy[typesafe]` for DSPy 3.4.0. None of those packages contains Jev's weights. The request they send is the one on the API page. What comes back is on what Jev is.
How do you call Jev from Python?
The hosted call is still POST /v1/systemone. The Python libraries wrap that path.
Liquid's docs say a `typesafe-sdk` client can set `base_url` to `https://api.liquid.ai`. meraGPT's post says that client can point `TYPESAFE_BASE_URL` at `https://meragpt.com`. The stories do not include a Python import for the package. The September 30 call from this desk was one HTTP POST. LangChain's install line, from its docs, is `uv add langchain-typesafe`. DSPy's extra is `dspy[typesafe]`, and the notes configure `dspy.experimental.TypeSafe("jev-latest")`. A patterns repo pins `TypeSafe("jev-1.13.0")`. We did not run either package.
Where does the API key go?
The key is created with a TypeSafe console account. These pages do not print a Python line that reads it.
LangChain's docs say not to pass sensitive credentials inside tool arguments. The DSPy notes we read set the model name and do not show an environment variable. Spring AI's live tests, which are Java, look for `TYPESAFE_API_KEY`. Jevflake stores the TypeSafe key as a Snowflake secret and calls it from SQL functions, not from a pip install. Signups for the console reopened on September 27, and the post says new signups no longer get free credits. On October 6, 2026, at 17:05 UTC, a new console account showed available credits of $0.00. That thread is signups paused, then reopened. The Snowflake package is Jevflake.
What does LangChain's Python package do?
`TypeSafeClassifier` is a LangChain Runnable that sends state and typed questions to Jev and returns structured results.
The September 17 tutorial pairs it with two experimental middleware classes, installed as `langchain-typesafe[experimental]`. ModelRouterMiddleware picks which chat model takes the turn. AutoModeMiddleware can answer a risky tool call with an error ToolMessage. The docs say those APIs can change. The tutorial's 200 times speed line and 400 times cost line are TypeSafe's published figures, not a LangChain measurement. The story is LangChain's harness. How that middleware sits in a loop is on patterns.
What does DSPy's client do?
DSPy 3.4.0, released September 25, 2026, adds Noul, Choice, and Score, and a TypeSafe client.
`Predict` turns a signature into Jev questions when every output is a decision. Noul returns a value, a probability, and a confidence that the notes define as distance from a threshold. A signature that needs generated text has no fallback to a language model. `ReAnchor` fits thresholds and weights, and the release notes print no accuracy for that fit. Drew Breunig's patterns repo pins jev-1.13.0, refuses a shell command below 0.2, and runs it at 0.6 or above. The page is DSPy 3.4.0.
What if the weights have to stay on the machine?
Jev's weights are not downloadable. Local Python stacks on this desk are other models.
Laya is `pip install laya`, Apache 2.0, three checkpoints and a router. Strands Decider's CLI is `pip install strands-decider`, and its local server is POST /v1/systemone. Zachi's pg-jev and Mejias's pg-jev both need PostgreSQL's plpython3u and outbound HTTPS, so the weights are still TypeSafe's. The September 15 announcement of the hosted model is the launch story. Cited repositories are grouped on repos and under open source.
Is there a pip package named jev?
Not in the stories on this desk. Other vendors' docs call the official client typesafe-sdk. LangChain's package is langchain-typesafe. DSPy's extra is dspy[typesafe].
Where does the API key go in Python?
The key is a TypeSafe console credential. The DSPy and LangChain pages we read configure a model name and do not print the environment variable the library reads. On October 6, 2026 this desk opened a console account with $0.00 in available credits. The key is not printed here.
Can Python run Jev's weights on my machine?
Jev's weights are not a Python package. Laya is pip install laya, and Strands Decider is pip install strands-decider. Both are other models that speak a similar request.
