Diogo Almeida quoted that post at 06:24 UTC. He wrote that the service is overflowing, that new signups have to be suspended, that old users should be fine, and that the pause is so the team can sleep. The image on the company post is a meme. The caption reads “WHY CAN’T I HOLD ALL THESE SIGNUPS.” It does not name a limit, an error, or a status page.
This is two days after the September 20 post that dropped the waitlist. That post described a $5 starting credit, about 120 million tokens. Replies under the pause include people saying they were a minute late and twenty minutes late. We did not try to open an account.
The post is about TypeSafe signups. It does not say that the Vercel, Cloudflare, OpenRouter, Venice, or LiteLLM listings stopped taking calls. Those hosts publish their own quotas. The September 21 incident was a different event: the company posted that the API and console were under investigation, then that they were back, and the status page marks Console is unavailable resolved at 08:16 UTC that morning.
