Privacy policy

Published October 8, 2026. This page covers jevainews.com. When the practices change, the new wording is posted here.

Jev News is a static reference site about decision models. TypeSafe AI does not operate it. The site has no accounts, no comment box, and no forms. It does not keep a visitor database.

Hosting

Cloudflare serves the pages. Opening a page sends the usual connection data: IP address, browser, page address, and time. Cloudflare uses that data to return the page and to limit abuse. Its policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Google Analytics

The production build loads Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-Y6LM31LCS0, from googletagmanager.com. The development server does not load it. The production tag does not wait for a consent choice unless the AdSense tag is also on the page.

The tag sets two first-party cookies. _ga distinguishes browsers. _ga_Y6LM31LCS0 keeps session state. This site leaves Google's default in place, so each cookie is set for up to two years, and a later visit moves the expiry forward. Google's cookie note says a browser can cut that short if you do not return: Chrome at 400 days, Safari at 7 days. Cookie usage on websites.

Google's description of the default collection lists user counts, session statistics, an approximate location, and browser and device details. The browser also sends Google the page address and the IP address. Data collection. For visitors in the EU, Switzerland, and the UK, Google says Analytics does not log or store the individual IP address. It uses the address to derive that coarse location, then discards it. EU, Switzerland, or UK-focused data and privacy.

You can block or delete these cookies in the browser. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out add-on. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Advertising

This site may show ads from Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.

Other vendors in Google's certified ad networks may also set cookies to serve those ads. A vendor that offers an opt-out describes it on its own site.

You can turn off personalized ads in Ads Settings. You can opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Visitors in Europe can use youronlinechoices.eu. Google's note on advertising cookies is at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Turning personalized ads off leaves the ads in place. Google can still choose them from the page you are reading, or from a general location. That choice does not use a profile built from other sites you have visited.

Visitors in Europe

Google's Privacy & messaging tool is the consent message for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. The message is published in the AdSense account. The AdSense tag serves it. The message lists the advertising partners and stores the choice. This site does not add a cookie banner of its own.

The production build loads that tag only when a publisher id is set. Until then the pages do not show the message. With the tag, the same build sends a consent default that denies ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage in those regions until the message records a choice. Outside those regions the default grants those four storage types.

Google's description is About European regulations messages.
