TypeSafe drops the Jev waitlist; new accounts start with $5

On October 8, 2026 the same signed-in console still showed available credits of $0.00. On September 20 TypeSafe dropped the Jev waitlist and posted $5 of credit. New signups no longer get it. On October 6, 2026 a new account showed $0.00.
TypeSafe posted on September 20 that Jev is available to everyone, with no waitlist. The link is console.typesafe.ai/login.
A follow-up in the same thread says every user starts with $5 in credit, about 120 million tokens. The models page still lists jev-1.13.0 at $0.042 per million input tokens with free output. At that rate, $5 covers about 119 million input tokens.
This desk already covered the September 17 batch, when Kevin Zhang said TypeSafe would release 20,000 accounts in an hour and warned people off the Helium browser. Five days after launch, the queue itself is gone.
Gateways that listed Jev during the waitlist week are still listed on access. On September 26 Vercel’s model card still listed input and output as Free, and it still printed promotional pricing through September 25. The $5 is console credit on TypeSafe’s own bill, not that promo.
We did not create an account on September 20. Later posts about the September 22 pause, including a September 25 console screenshot and a report that registration was still stopped, are in the signup story. On September 27 at 22:30 UTC that same account posted that signups were open again, and the next post said new signups no longer get free credits. On October 6, 2026, at 17:05 UTC, that story records a new console account with available credits of $0.00. On October 8, 2026 the same signed-in console still showed available credits of $0.00, no payment method, and no billing history. The $5 figure on this page is the September 20 offer.

At the models page rate of $0.042 per million input tokens, $5 buys about 119 million tokens, which matches the rounded figure. The earlier waitlist story on this desk covered Kevin Zhang's 20,000-account batch on September 17. We did not create an account on September 20 or spend that credit. On October 6, 2026, at 17:05 UTC, the signup story records a new console account with available credits of $0.00.
Compare
OpenRouter, Cloudflare, Netlify, Vercel, and Venice already listed Jev while TypeSafe still ran a queue. Those doors stay in the access index. Vercel's promotional free pricing on the Gateway still ends September 25.
The $5 is TypeSafe console credit, billed at TypeSafe's published rate, not a Gateway promo. LiteLLM's pass-through, covered separately, still needs a TypeSafe key on the proxy.
