Vercel says Jev is the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history, and makes it free until Sept 25
A Vercel blog post dated September 18 reports that Jev reached nearly 13% of paid AI Gateway teams in its first 24 hours, twice the GPT-5.6 family and more than six times Fable 5.1. The model card and a September 19 Developers post say promotional pricing runs through September 25, 2026.
Vercel published a blog post on September 18 titled “Jev is the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history.” The company account posted the same numbers that evening.
Within 24 hours of the Gateway listing, the post says, Jev was being used by nearly 13% of paid teams. That is twice as many as the GPT-5.6 family and more than six times Fable 5.1. Jev passed every comparison model in its first twelve hours. It reached a tenth of teams within 18 hours; the other recent launches in the chart stayed below 7% after a full day.
The authors are Amelia Charles, Harpreet Arora, and Eric Dodds. They write that first-day adoption was unmatched among recent launches. “The next test,” they add, “is whether that early adoption lasts.” The post repeats TypeSafe’s own workflow table (up to 194 times faster and 445 times cheaper) as company reporting, not a Vercel rerun.
The model card lists typesafe-ai/jev with Free on both input and output, and a line that promotional pricing ends on September 25, 2026. On September 19 the Vercel Developers account posted that Jev is free on the Gateway until that date.
A September 18 addendum on the AI Gateway Production Index restates the 24-hour paid-team share. That monthly report still covers traffic through August. We did not send a Gateway request.

Vercel's own account posted the 13% / 2x / 6x line the same evening and linked the post. The model card lists input and output as Free and says promotional pricing ends on September 25, 2026. The Developers account repeated that cutoff on September 19. These are Vercel Gateway telemetry on paid teams, not TypeSafe console keys and not a quality eval. We did not pull the underlying table.
